Loving Cape Town!

What a great day we had today! We had a guide/driver take us around Cape Town and show us the various areas before heading down the peninsula to the Cape of Good Hope. Besides being very interesting, it was beautiful! And our guide, George was lots of fun and very knowledgeable. I loved the "swish" neighborhoods that we drove through. Many reminded me of Malibu. It is more Mediterranean than African to me. Quite interesting seeing ostriches beside the road! There were lots of vineyards and wineries, too. We ate lunch at a great little place on the water very close to a penguin colony that we did check out. I wrongly thought that the Indian Ocean was on one side of the Cape and the Atlantic on the other! Kind of had my geography all wrong! After we got back to our room, the cable car began taking passengers to the top of Table Mountain.....(closed this morning as well as all day yesterday). Our great guide, was still parked outside the hotel waiting for the 5 o'clock traffic to die down....so he offered to give us a lift. We loved all the views from the top. The last car down left before sunset, so that was a bummer! We had a scary crazy taxi driver try to "take us for a ride"! After almost being crunched, we got out of the taxi and walked back to the hotel via McDonalds so that Barry could get his favorite drink, Mocha frappe. We are now packing. We head to Hermanus tomorrow!
