Whew! We are not in Kansas anymore!

It has been a very interesting day! First, I am happy to report that our luggage did fly with us to Nairobi! Yay! After Barry and I got on the flight,I was reading the newspaper in Jo'burg and there was an article out the luggage robberies that are occuring at a rate of 15 per day at the airport by baggage handlers! So we were glad to see it at baggage claim in Nairobi. Our South African flight from Cape Town to Jo'burg was very nice. Nice planes...nice staff. When we arrived at Jo'burg we had to go back through security to change flights. Our Kenyan Airlines was an older plane. The staff couldn't be nicer. There were 2 people sitting close to us that everyone knew...but us! People kept bowing to the man sitting in front of us as well as shaking hands and speaking to the man across the aisle. Mid-flight, there was a lady that they carried by the arms and legs to the front of the plane. She was limp. They had her laid out in the aisle and "worked on her". Not really sure what they were doing even though she was right by our seats....no doctors or health care people involved or summoned? Then they picked her up by the arms and legs and took her back and put her in her seat? Who knows? I am sure a lot of you have been to the Niarobi airport! Wow! Not sure what to say!!! We then went and got in line for Visas. Got to the front and were given
papers to fill out and then come back and get in now VERY LONG LINE!!! Finally made it through. We are at the Norfolk Hotel. Lotta history. We are dealing with a problem of not enough passport pages! We have our wonderful son-in-law working on this from Washington and we are contacting the American Embassy tomorrow morning here. Our ride from the airport to the hotel was informative! Love our contact person here! We get "collected" at 8am !!!
